My Clients Tend to Be
My Clients Tend to Be
Client #1: What you need is something different. You have had plenty of massages in your life. You need someone to understand that you have taken care of your family and your business dutifully and loyally for some time now. You have also come to the realization that you are no longer 30. And you know that if you don’t take care of THIS (poor posture, chronic tension, joint ache) now, it may not get better so quickly, or on its own anymore. You need someone who won’t waste your time, but will take the time to listen... someone who knows what they are doing, and will give you clear direction... someone who will teach you to take care of yourself and your family, and will take care of YOU when you walk in the door.
Client #2: You are an athlete, defined as someone who spends at least 5-6 hours per week honing your skills, physical development, or physique in an activity you love, even in a gym. Your job may define you as an athlete and make specific physical demands that you must attend to in order to continue working. Your recovery time is crucial, and must be minimized for efficiency. You need someone who can not only teach you how to repair an injury, but can help you walk the line when you know you need to push right up to the edge.
Client #4: You understand and live the integration of body and mind. Aligning your spirituality, your purpose here, your heart and your goals engage much of your conscious thought. You know you have things to release in your body, potentially old things, in order to best live with EASE. You are looking for someone who can help you anchor your gifts/values/qualities into your body, who helps remind you who you are. You are looking for someone who is sensitive, whose intuition leads the way, who invites you to where you most need to go, in partnership, with support.
Client who is not, and will never be, a number (or who simply does not fit completely into the above descriptions): Welcome. Neither do I.
Client #3: You already, unfortunately, have a soft tissue injury... muscle, tendon or ligament. You might need some clarity on which injury you have, and you definitely need a plan of action. You’ll be coming in twice a week, and doing daily exercises, stretches and ice applications on your own. New tendonitis injuries take 6-8 weeks of daily work to heal, and chronic injuries take 8-12 weeks. You WANT your healthy body back. You are ready to work, and ready to follow precise direction.
